Here’s a list of the 100 best poker blogs of 2009. The blogs were rated on how often people linked to them and how much traffic they received. Yup, it’s pretty much a popularity contest. It would be a little too much work to rate each blog on the quality of content they produced…

    Thanks for the heads up Gugel – and the recognition!

  2. Lara

    30. Apr, 2009

    Who came up with this list? It seems a bit ummm…off..

  3. Gugel

    30. Apr, 2009

    @Lara

    The rankings are based more on popularity than posting frequency or the quality of the content.

  4. Nat Arem

    30. Apr, 2009

    Sweet!

  9. BWoP

    That’s surprising for me. But thank you for the shout out.

  10. Kajagugu

    01. May, 2009

    LOL, I haven’t been a poker blogger in almost a year and I still made the list? All my traffic comes from some stupid FAILblog link I put up a long time ago. Seriously? I made it past Mookie99?

    Thanks Gugel

  11. Gugel

    01. May, 2009

    @Kajagugu
    What can I say, you’re still popular :)

  12. Bill Rini

    01. May, 2009

    Popularity graded on what scale? Because Iggy (PP blog), Pauly (Tao of Poker), Dan (Pokerati), and Ed Miller (Noted Poker Authority), all suck :-) I should be #1.

    Only 93 better blogs than mine?
    You sure?

  14. Michele Lewis

    02. May, 2009

    Hey Gugel… thanks for the shout and ego boost!

  15. Mitchell Cogert

    04. May, 2009

    Great job of poker blogs…but…

    I get more visitors to my poker blog than many folks on this list. It’s my “How to Win a Poker Tournament Blog.” According to Google analytics over 2,200 visitors in the past 30 days.

    I guess I get penalized for being on blogger?

  16. Gugel

    09. May, 2009

    @Mitchell
    Links from other blogs were a big factor in the rankings :)

  17. [...] disorder (which apparently I’m suffering from).   Plus, Anksy Gugel ranked me 22 in the top 100 poker blogs and that means that someone out there actually listens to [...]

    Thanks for the link! Not sure I deserve to be in the top 100 though :-P

    Oh, there must be some mistake!

  20. Michael

    14. May, 2009

    Links from other blogs were a big factor? I have a ton of inbound links including NPC and StoxPoker but only ranked 81st? Seems a bit off :)

    (not that I really mind, honored to be on the list…. but inbound links ranking doesn’t appear accurate to me)

  21. Ukgatsby
